For service providers
Working with service providers
Flame Marine provides the knowledge behind engine condition monitoring services that other organisations deliver under their own names: the analysis, the interpretation and the reporting, with the provider's branding and the provider's customer relationship.
What we provide
A service provider brings its customers, its name and its own specialists. Flame Marine brings the diagnosis: the laboratory analysis, the model and the reporting. Built on Flame Diagnostic, a service for another provider can:
- produce reports in the provider's format, including concise reports for the ship's engineers alongside the full report for the technical office
- give a structured summary assessment: fuel as it reaches the engine, scavenge air quality, combustion condition, cylinder oil feed, cylinder drain oil condition, wear condition, system oil condition and engine performance
- draw on the provider's own expertise where it is strongest, for example in fuel and fuel systems
- verify and validate the conclusions drawn, so that each finding is cross-checked against the rest
- serve as a platform for further services the provider wants to launch
Samples are analysed in an accredited laboratory, and the interpretation uses the same model of the engine that Flame Diagnostic uses, refined against every engine sampled since 1998.
What stays with the provider
The customer relationship, the brand, the commercial terms and the first line of technical contact. Flame Marine works behind the service. Where an issue needs further investigation, the provider's specialists and Flame Marine can work on it together.
Classification society services
Flame Marine and Lloyd's Register have worked together for many years to deliver FOBAS Engine and FEAP, the FOBAS Engine Assessment Programme, both developed from Flame Diagnostic. The relationship gives Flame Marine access to Lloyd's Register's specialists, particularly in fuel and fuel system diagnosis, and gives Flame Marine's own clients the assurance that a leading classification society uses the same technology as they do.
